Jessie James, her moniker for her album that she dropped under the same name at the end of August, 2009 was a self-titled. Jessie James achieved a reasonable amount of popularity and had Wanted making it to in the Top 40 charts. Decker has always been known as a "country" artist but this album is produced and marketed to a mass market. Decker battled with the label to gain more control of her music after two other singles failed. Her subsequent album, Boys in the Summer, was more country oriented. The album that Decker released in the form of Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records, was pulled because Mercury noticed the weak performances of three of her singles on the country charts.
